Privacy
What you write here is yours. It stays private unless you choose to share it.
Beloved Hollow is run by Taomir, an individual. Questions about your data: taomir519@gmail.com.
What we keep
- Their house: your pet's name, and optionally what kind of animal they were and their favorite food. If you hang their photo by the window, it stays on your device; we don't receive it.
- Your cards: the words you write, and whether each one is slipped under the door or pinned to it.
- Your visits: when their window was lit, what you left on the step, candles lit.
- Your key: if you keep it, your email address and a password. We store only a scrambled form of the password (a hash), never the password itself.
- Payments: the amount and date. Card details are handled by the payment provider; we never see them.
Private, public, and search
- Slipped under the door: only you can read it.
- Pinned to the door: people visiting the Hollow can read it.
- Search engines: a separate choice, off unless you turn it on. Private cards are never shown to search engines.
On Your house you can take a card off the door, remove it, turn search off, or remove their house. Removing erases the words, not just hides them. Changes on the Hollow take effect right away. Search engines may take some time to catch up.
When you ask for their house to appear in search, we read what's pinned to the door before it does. We never read what's slipped under the door.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data or show ads.
- We don't read your private cards, except when required to deal with abuse or by law.
- We don't use analytics or tracking cookies. The one cookie we set remembers your visit, so your house is still yours next time.
Deleting everything
You can delete any card, or your whole house, yourself on Your house: the words are erased, not hidden. Records of payments are kept, because the 10% we give is counted from them.
To delete your key as well (the email and password you kept it with), or for anything else about your data, write to taomir519@gmail.com.
